Slide 1: Before Labor Day existed, God talked about work. Slide 2: Work was God's idea before the fall. It was never the punishment. (Genesis 2:15) Slide 3: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. (Colossians 3:23) Slide 4: God Himself worked six days and rested on the seventh. The rhythm was built in on purpose. Slide 5: Your work is not separate from your faith. It is an expression of it. Slide 6: The goal was never to work less. It was to work with meaning. Slide 7: Happy Labor Day. Go rest. You've earned it. God modeled that too.

Rest isn’t laziness. It’s obedience. 1. We live in a world that glorifies “busy”. The church isn’t immune to this. 2. But God rested on the seventh day. Not because He had to. But because He wanted to model it for us. 3. When we don’t stop to rest, we say: “Everything depends on me.” Or: “My worth is what I produce.” 4. Rest, on the other hand, is an act of trust. 5. Sabbath rest isn't just Netflix and a nap. It's intentional disconnection from striving. 6. Jesus told us to come to Him and He would give us rest. (Matthew 11:28)
