God wants us to be fruitful. So when He asks us to give something up or even disciplines us, it isn’t just to be mean. He wants us to produce good things.
As we're connected with Jesus, there's a pruning process involved. We are shaped into the image of Christ, and lose pieces that no longer fit into the picture of fruitfulness.
